Portsmouth Looprun testimonial Until 2023 when we were signposted to Looprun by one of our London Tottenham SDA church, Portsmouth SDA church had for several years started a number of community service programs that included coffee and tea sessions, food banks, exercise sessions and clothes giving but with all these routinely folding, partly due to limited budgets. Through the support of Looprun facilitating access to free food and grocery items from local supermarkets, our church has since become the centre of hope where members of our local communities come to collect free food and grocery donated items every Saturdays and Sundays as well as some adhoc week days. The numbers of people coming to get this support has gradually increased as the service in-turn grew from strength to strength. In addition to the community people who come to the centre of hope to access food and groceries, we also now routinely deliver groceries to two homeless centres and a young peoples hostel. Last year, Looprun offered and encouraged us to use some of the donated items in starting to run some breakfast sessions. We now run a very well attended once a month breakfast event. During these breakfast sessions, we now also celebrate birthdays of our community members making them feel so connected and valued. On the other hand once a month, through the donated food and groceries, we also now provide food hampers for our local university students. We started with all of our volunteers being members of our local SDA church only but have since expanded to now having some volunteers being members of our communities mainly because of consistency maintained. We are so thankful to all our volunteers who have dedicated their efforts in making a difference to the lives of our community members. It is mainly through the support of Looprun that our church has finaly managed to start and continue to run our community services something that we couldn't have achieved without the Looprun services. We are therefore so grateful and praise God for the Looprun services. As Portsmouth church we highly recommend Looprun to all other churches that want to start a community service project.
